DSL Firmware Update
Like many electronics manufacturers, Zoom Technologies, Inc. regularly provides firmware upgrades for their products. If you are experiencing frequent loss of connectivity to the Internet, a firmware upgrade may solve the problem. The model type and model-variant type are listed on a sticker on the bottom of each unit. Please follow the instructions below to determine your Zoom modem firmware version. Then follow the direct links (listed on this page below Current Firmware Versions) to your specific Zoom model Firmware Upgrade Page. You will have the option to select Windows or Mac next to your country/location to download. Instructions are included.
Below you will find the Zoom firmware versions that are current as of April 8, 2008. Using the modem specific links provided on this page, we recommend that you check the Zoom website to verify if newer firmware has become available.
Current Firmware Versions:
Zoom X5 Modem Firmware (5654): Version 2.1.0
Zoom X5v Modem Firmware (5585): Version 2.5.3
Zoom X6 Modem Firmware (5590, 5590AF, 5590BF): Version 2.1.5
If your Zoom ADSL X6 Model 5590, 5590AF or 5590BF - Modem/Router/Firewall/4-port Switch plus Wireless Access Point modem has a firmware version older than 2.1.5 AND you are experiencing frequent loss of connectivity to the Internet, we recommend that you upgrade the firmware on your modem.
Zoom X6 Modem Firmware (5590CF, 5590DF): Version 5.0.8-00
If your Zoom ADSL X6 Model 5590CF or 5590DF - Modem/Router/Firewall/4-port Switch plus Wireless Access Point modem has a firmware version older than 5.0.8-00 AND you are experiencing frequent loss of connectivity to the Internet, we recommend that you upgrade the firmware on your modem.
Zoom Bridge Modem Firmware (5615): No firmware version listed.
How to check Zoom modem firmware versions:
Zoom ADSL X5v Modem:
- Open your web browser, type http://10.0.0.2 and press Enter to display the Network Password box.
- Type the following default User Name and Password.
- User Name = admin
- Password = zoomvoip
- The basic setup page will be displayed indicating that you are communicating with your modem.
- Click the System Status icon at the top of the page.
- Verify that the Firmware Version line matches the current version listed above for your specific Zoom X5v model.
- If it does not match, please click on the link to your models’ Firmware Upgrade Page.
Zoom ADSL X5, and X6 Wireless Modem:
- Open your web browser, type http://10.0.0.2 and press Enter to display the Network Password box.
- Type the following default User Name and Password.
- User Name = admin
- Password = zoomadsl
- The basic setup page will be displayed indicating that you are communicating with your modem.
- Click the System Status icon at the top of the page.
- Verify that the Firmware Version line matches the current version listed above for your specific Zoom X5 or X6model.
- If it does not match, please click on the link to your models’ Firmware Upgrade Page.
